Welcome to the Glen Juniors' web page!
JUNIORS WANTED!
JUNIOR GOLF AT THE GLEN! Are you an aspiring junior golfer or an existing junior possibly looking looking for a new or second club. The Glen has been awarded the Junior Charter and recently published an updated Junior Golfing Strategy to promote the development of all junior golfers at The Glen.
We are able to play mat free golf all year at The Glen and we have introduced junior competitions throughout the year. A number of years ago we introduced short course (blue) tees which are suited to all developing golfers, including juniors. The Glen also offers subsidised coaching via a junior coaching levy paid by the adult membership.
If you are interested, have played some golf but more importantly understand what golf etiquette, including appropriate behaviour, is about we would like to hear from you. There are opportunities to join now at this year's junior rate and your membership will be valid through until March 2013.
If you are interested and would like more information please contact John Lunn, Junior Convenor, in the first instance. Contact details are provided below.
This page complements the Juniors' notice board, news letter pages and other means of communication. This means that you don't have to rely on this site for the latest information - always check the notice board in the clubhouse!
We try to keep this page fresh by constantly updating it with items of news, pictures etc. If you have an idea for an item to be published, contact the Junior Convenor.

About the Glen Juniors
We have approximately 100 junior members at the Glen Golf Club, ranging in age from 8 to 18.
There are numerous advantages to junior membership:
- year-round golf at very low cost
- on attaining the age of 18, juniors can 'upgrade' to full membership without the need to be proposed, seconded and go on the waiting list
- a full itinerary including medal competitions (stroke-play), Stableford (points per hole) and match-play competitions.
- a National Handicap gained by submitting scorecards from medal and Stableford competitions
- at the Glen we recognise the importance of providing golf tuition. We provide vouchers entitling junior members to free coaching.
- we are members of the East Lothian Junior League. Any junior can aspire to representing his club at this level by showing commitment, loyalty and a consistent (or, better still, consistently improving!) level of play.
The Junior Charter
In 2001 the Glen was awarded the Junior Charter (on view in the Clubhouse), a certificate that can only be achieved by providing an environment for the development of junior golf which meets very high standards.
The Glen supports Clubgolf which will give every 9-year-old child in Scotland the opportunity to receive coaching. http://www.clubgolfscotland-youth.co.uk/
