Professional Day Results 2017
In a hotly contested competition the team of Brian Thomson, David McNeil and David Dixon managed to secure the victory with an 83 points total. Pushing them all the way was the final team of the day featuring Tom Hardie, Chris Gay and Jackie Corbett agonisingly missing out by a single point. Bronze Medal position went to Graham Probert, Brian Bevan and John Burnett on 81 points.
Other winners on the day included:
Nearest the Pin at the 4th – John McMorland
Nearest the Pin at the 9th – Colin Johnstone
Nearest the Pin at the 13th – Rab McFarlane
Nearest the Pin at the 16th – John Lindsay
The Virtual Nearest the Pin prize held in the ‘Tardis like’ 144 yard Swing Room was claimed by Jamie Pollard, 9ft 9inches from the flag – although I have it on good authority from his playing partners that he would have, almost certainly, three putted.
The String Putting Competition was won by George Cringan on a count back, managing to squeeze Walter Gerrard into second place, by virtue of a two on the penultimate hole - both scored 18 for their rounds. There were some notably higher scores than these it has to be said, including a near career-ending 8 on the 5th hole from Captain Jim Sear and there appeared to be some confusion as to where to return the cards as several players were seen posting them directly into the dustbin.
Overall we were very lucky with the weather and the course was in great condition, thank you to everyone who entered and well done to all the prize winners, drop into the Pro Shop to collect your vouchers and prizes.
