ENTERING A GLEN MEDAL COMPETITION:

THINGS  YOU NEED TO KNOW

Singles Medal Competitions (Weekends)

The entry sheet will be posted on the Noticeboard or on-line where advised no later than 4 weeks prior to the competition.

Entries will close at 12 noon on the closing date for the competition entries (usually Monday) and the draw will be posted on the Noticeboard and in the Members’ Secure Area on the website www.glengolfclub.co.uk before noon on the following day.

Untaken times will be made available to members and visitors – even if they are in the middle of the Competition.

Starters will, at their discretion, allow visitors to play in 2, 3 or 4-balls during the competition. Members may play in a 4-ball provided they agree to step aside immediately to allow competitors through.

A player who wishes to withdraw from the competition after the draw has been made, may do so without penalty, provided he informs the Starter before noon on the day (usually Friday) prior to the Competition.

A player who wishes to withdraw from the competition after noon on the day prior to the Competition may be required to pay a fine equivalent to the Entry Fee.

Any player who wishes to withdraw from a competition but fails to inform the Starter of his intention to do so at least 60 minutes  prior to his tee-off time (i.e. a ‘No Show’), may be required to pay a fine equivalent to the Entry Fee.

Late entries will be accepted up to noon on the day prior to the competition to fill existing spaces in the draw or to replace a player who has been entered into the original draw and has subsequently withdrawn.

Note - No late entries will be accepted after 12 noon on the day prior to the competition.

On completion of the round, all scores (including No Returns) must be entered in the computer and the scorecard returned to the Committee. (The card is ‘returned to the Committee’ when it is placed in the Competitions Card Box or handed over to a Club official.)

The Rules for ALL competitions will be those of the R&A as currently in operation and the Local Rules as defined by the Management Committee of the Glen Golf Club which are printed on the scorecard and/or displayed on the Noticeboard.
