Ladies and Seniors Greensomes Stableford 26th May 2023 

Thank you to David Cragg and Mark Coke for helping me with the draw and handicap calculations for this happy mixed competition. Thanks to Clint and his team who fed and watered us afterwards.

We had some great laughs in our groups if the conversation, gay wit and repartee had anything to go by, after the competition. Soup and sandwiches were much needed after all that effort on the course.

As first out, the names on the lists for nearest the pin and longest drives were the organisers’ prerogative and David Cragg’s shot on the 9th to 10 feet could not be beaten. Gavin McDougall’s drive soared on the 12th to be the longest on the fairway. There were others, but not on the fairways. Come on guys try to get those drives straight!

The ladies winners were Christian Blake nearest the pin at the 13th. Very close I understand and Anne McMenigall is definitely back with the longest drive at the 6th.

The scoring for most of the pairs was very good indeed with almost all groups scoring in the 30’s.

Three groups were a cut above that:

3rd place  Isabel Nisbet and John Drysdale       40 points

2nd place Anne McMenigall and Neil Purves      42 points

1st place Fiona Martin and Colin Johnstone     43 points

Thanks go to those who donated some prizes and we look forward to a return of this fixture next year.
