Practice Ground Usage

Please check in with the Starter if you would like to use the practice ground.

The practice ground is located between the 15th and 16th holes and will be marshalled by Glen stewards. For health and safety reasons the practice ground will operate under strict rules and players will be restricted to 5 only players at any time.  

Tickets for practice balls may be purchased from the shop, (40 balls per basket @ £3.50) maximum of two baskets issued at any one time, the ticket must be presented to the marshal on duty before practice (tickets will not be refundable) To allow all players to practice each player will be restricted to hitting only one basked of balls at any one time, if a player wishes to hit more practice balls, they must re-join the queue at the car park.

The practice ground opening hours will be:

Monday                 29th May        - 8.00am to 5pm

Tuesday                 30th May        - 6.00am to 6pm

Wednesday           31st May        - 6.00am to 6pm

Thursday               1st June         - 6.00am to 2pm

The practice ground will be closed outside these times and may also be closed while ball collection is in process.

Please note that the practice area is marked by a blue line

Important:  No practice is allowed on the ground behind the clubhouse car park.

** Unfortunately, due to the length of the Practice ground Drivers, Woods, and Rescue clubs are not allowed **

Changing Facilities

Glen Golf Club offers first class changing facilities which include lockers. Showers are available but players must bring their own towels. The wearing of soft spikes is not permitted in the clubhouse except in the locker room. All property is left at the owners’ own risk.

Catering Facilities

The bar and restaurant are on the first floor of the club house where you can relax and take in the great views.

Every morning there will be freshly made sandwiches, fresh fruit, tea, and coffee to go along with hot & cold filled rolls and beverages to go.   

Payment in cash or credit card (except American Express).

Standard of Dress

On the Course and in the Clubhouse:

Visitors are expected to be smartly dressed both on the course and in the clubhouse. Broadly speaking there is a single standard for all parts of the clubhouse and what is suitable for the course is suitable for the clubhouse other than golf shoes, the exception to this is golf headwear which isn’t permitted to be worn in the clubhouse.

Shirts should have sleeves and collars, though round necked shirts designed specifically for golf are acceptable. Shirts should be tucked in.

Trousers and shorts should be tailored; Blue denim jeans are not acceptable.

Socks worn with shorts should be golf, sports, or trainer socks.

Professional’s Shop

Yardage books are available from the Professional’s shop at a cost of £8.00. The shop has a comprehensive stock of leading brand clothing and equipment.

Buggies

No buggies are available during the event.

Push/Pull Trollies

We have a limited amount of trollies. Please call ahead to reserve your trolley and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. They are bookable for a 5 day period at a cost of £25.00 - paid in advance via the Starter and you will be responsible for the trolley pull bar for the duration of the competition.

Electric Trollies

There are a limited number of Electric Trollies available. It is advisable to book in advance via the Starter. Payable on arrival at £20 per round.

Mobile Phones

The use of mobile phones is prohibited on the Course (other than in the case of an emergency). Mobile phones may be kept on silent in the Clubhouse to allow use of Wi-Fi.

Liability

Visitors, their vehicles, and equipment are on Club property at their own risk and the Club has no liability. The Club has the right to refuse entry or the removal of a visitor at its absolute discretion.

Car Parking

Parking is available at the Club. Please do not leave valuables in your car or unattended around the Club.  Please note when parking along the roadside adjacent to the 18th fairway.

DO NOT PARK ON PAVEMENT the police are liable to come and ticket the area.
