2023 MATCHPLAY COMPETITIONS
To be eligible for match play competitions in 2023, we expect a combination of 3 Medal and General Play scores in the 2022 season, or prior to competition closing dates.
For members who only wish to have social rounds this is not a requirement; this is only for those who enjoy the competitive element of match play.
Summer Four Ball Better Ball: Maximum Competition handicap 28. A player with an Index greater than 28 may enter the competition; however, their competition handicap will be capped at 28.
Entries will open through the starter on Wednesday 1st March and close on Monday 27th March. A draw will take place thereafter and displayed on the noticeboard in the Gents’’ locker room and on the Glen website.
Glen Shield: Maximum Competition handicap 28. A player with an Index greater than 28 may enter the competition; however, their competition handicap will be capped at 28.
Entries will open through the starter on Wednesday 1st March and close on Monday 27th March. A draw will take place thereafter and displayed on the noticeboard in the Gents’’ locker room and on the Glen website.
Winter Foursomes: Maximum Competition handicap 28. A player with an index greater than 28 may enter the competition; however, their competition handicap will be capped at 28. Entries will open through the starter on Friday 1st September and close on Monday 25th September. A draw will take place thereafter and displayed on the noticeboard in the Gents’’ locker room and on the Glen website.
Winter Singles: Maximum Competition handicap 28. A player with an index greater than 28 may enter the competition; however, their competition handicap will be capped at 28. Entries will open through the starter on Friday 1st September and close on Monday 25th September. A draw will take place thereafter and displayed on the noticeboard in the Gents’’ locker room and on the Glen website.
Entries cost £6 for the singles and £12 per team for the 4BBB/Foursomes.
All entries to be made via the Starter.
Entries close at NOON on Monday 27th March 2023.
Draws will be made as soon as possible thereafter & published on the website & on the competition noticeboards.

Ties should be arranged by mutual consent.
3 dates should be offered by the player or team higher in the draw - at least 1 weekday date and 1 weekend date.
On completion of each match please update the draw sheets on the relevant noticeboards and also update the Starter on enquiries@glengolfclub.co.uk, so that the online draws can be kept up to date.
